BE BRAVE: Day 22: Eliminating "Don't Want To" To Do Clutter

BE BRAVE, otherwise known as "Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You", is the title of the month-long project inspired by Jessie. I am participating daily for a month. Today is Day 22.

This video is just over two minutes long---let me know if this is ok, or if it's too long. I've noticed that my browser will stall if I have too many windows open. I'm wondering if I should go to YouTube like everyone else has...what do you think? Blogger reduces the quality of the video too, so that it takes up less space. I'm thinking it might be better under YouTube. Any ideas?

Enjoy today's video:

I'm really enjoying the chance to hear and see instead of only read and look at static images, Olivia. It's fun to tune into OliviaTV!

My eldest is a performer, starting as a 10-year-old playing Toto in an alternative version of Wizard of Oz (same story, different music).

My youngest, who is six years younger, would insist that, rather than Sesame Street, she wanted to watch AubrieTV, which is what she called the videos we captured of the various shows her oldest sister appeared in.

Last note: I think the quality is fine, and two minutes isn't too long for me at all. The one video I put up was close to that...a bit over a minute and a half, I think.

Continued success, Braveheart Olivia!

I guess I need faster broadband! I only got half of this one. Nevermind.

I do the same thing when I am on hold. Do some other activity! Good plan

Thanks for the cool name, Rick :) Both for my videos and for me---I take the latter as the highest compliment!

And Rick and Annie, thanks for the feedback about the technicalities of the video. I will try to break it down into one minute increments or so. Or keep it under two minutes if at all possible!

It's a little frustrating to see the video so crisp and clear on my computer, then to upload it to Blogger and to see it a bit jerky and pixelated. But I'm glad you guys are doing ok with it.

I just read your blog via Bloglines, Rick, so I missed the video of your daughter singing, and WOW was that something. I have stepchildren who I inherited as adults, not children of my own, so I can't imagine how it must feel to have such a talented, graceful, and beautiful child(ren) that I actually raised to be that way. It is an area of life that I just can't imagine. Congratulations on all of your hard work and to your daughter for her achievements!

Thanks, you two, peace & joy today,
O

Olivia--I don't think it is Blogger that is causing you to see pixilation and jerky motion--it's fine for me, which makes me wonder about your own internet download speed. Mine is not blitz fast, but it is decent. Maybe you should only look at your own videos on your own computer, and leave the blogger view to your loyal fans! (grinning)

Olivia, because I am more dependent upon technology than I often care to admit, I needed to spend 16 minutes on hold, waiting for my internet provider. The torture wasn't waiting, it was the AWFUL music. There was no way I could have danced to it. Then, the super friendly human voice spoke and I smiled, THEN spoke, and she walked me through the necessary steps - and now I'm back online! The fact that you cheerfully waitied not once, but twice, to complete the necessary missions, is amazing. You're my super hero right now.

Thanks, Eileen!! It WAS a challenge, and it made me feel good that I could get it OUT OF THE WAY! I have struggled in the past with being productive with projects that are overwhelmingly yucky, instead avoiding them and creating more problems. This was for "BE BRAVE" and was to facilitate my preps for NaNoWriMo, so I made, it fun---I made something fun that was intrinsically irritating! Oh, if I could only do that throughout the rest of my life. Wait, I can! :)

Love and blessings, O

i'm feeling a little emotional today, but omg woman! this video made me cry. i wish we could take all of your videos, compile them onto a DVD and then distribute them to everyone in the world! you are the next #1 best seller, my friend. ;) i'm serious. your videos really help to remind me why i'm doing this and i am always able to relate to the things you are saying. dancing while vacuuming while on hold--hey, why not?! amazing how positive energy has a way of changing even the most mundane projects. and i agree: this project would not be the same if done alone.

love you!

Love you, too, Jessie! And no one has ever said that to me before---that a video of mine made them cry :) I appreciate and take in ALL of your kind words, which mean so much!
