12 Secrets Starts

Today the book club blogging group "Next Chapter" officially started and I began reading the book for the upcoming season, "12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women" by Gail McMeekin.

I just read the introduction, but it got me so fired up again. I'd read this book several years ago, promising myself I'd read it regularly, but then forgot. Now is the perfect time to reread it, it turns out.

Check out the group website, which is hosted by Jamie Ridler, if you'd like to join! The first interview for the club is posted there as well, that of the wonderful Jennifer Lee of Artizen Coaching and the Life Unfolds blog. Wonderful, wonderful. I'm so happy to be in this group just now.

I'm so glad it has begun Olivia. I have ordered my copy of 12 Secrets and it has been shipped, but it may not arrive for another week. It does have to fly across the Pacific Ocean first, so I must be patient :) I will join the group if it gets here in good time.

Did you hear the interview? I love how she talks about recognizing our inner muses ~ give them a name, give them a voice, write a manifesto.

I'm excited to be a part of this amazing group! We are so lucky.

This does sound very interesting! I'm not artistic in the traditional sense of that ~ especially not in any visual sense. Meaning: I don't create "things".. but I like to think I create ideas.

I'm looking forward to reading the book and seeing where it leads. :)

I look forward to hearing more and hope that by doing this as a collective it helps you with the creative process even more. I know I am glad there is structure and support, I probably couldn't do it on my own. Getting fired up sounds like a good way to begin and I loved the first interview too.

Patti,

You can join late...plus the chapters are short and easy, fascinating reading. I think it would work! xxoo, O

And Kathryn and Suzie,

Welcome to the happyluau!

I did indeed hear the interview---wonderful! We are lucky, yes.

I do think that participating as a group helps a great deal, being on a schedule, etc. Yet it is loose enough that it's not pressure.

Blessings to you both,

Olivia

Chani,

You are SO creative! Are you kidding? Why do you think you don't fit in with the dominant culture? Ok, lots of reasons, but that is one of them. You'll see when you read the book :)

Hi Olivia! Thanks for the mention and glad to have you as part of the book club. I'm re-reading the book, too, and doing it in this communal way is providing so much more insight and inspiration. Nice to meet you!!! Happy creating.

I must agree that this group is such a great gift. I read the book a while ago, but then also put it down, and i think gave it away, so i had to get a new copy!

So great to meet you!

best,
Lisa

Hi Olivia,
Welcome to 12 secrets. I too am taking this book off the bookshelf where its been a source of inspiration for years. But its very different to move through it with a community of women around the world.

Loved your posts on spirituality as well, my favorite subject to live, and to write about!
