Wellness Wednesday: Self-Pity or Gratitude?

Dang, Olivia! You should have at least sought my permission before doing that absolutely dead-on impression of me during that whiny "poor me!" part of this vlog.

Seriously, you so reminded me of me!

What I love about this one is that, just as you demonstrate in the literal sense, life's challenges are so often met by simply continuing to put one foot in front of the other, again and again.

Honestly, it makes it much harder to whine and complain when you are busy moving forward. It is only in stasis that our whiny selves are served. I'm with you: it may hurt a bit to move, but moving beats whining every time.

Thanks, O!

Olivia,

WOW what a journey you took on that video....I would have said a ton of things to help the beginning you but it looks like you did it all on your own. Today I found p 164-167 in The New Earth to be invaluable.

So much of our lives seem to be the old "two steps forward and one step back"...but you definately came out a step ahead on that walk Olivia! I'm so impressed with your perserverance and courage.

Wow, Olivia, I am floored by this post. You are incredible. There was so much there that you were able to move beyond, so much between the lines, so much courage and wisdom, an incredible turnaround and strength within yourself. You are inspiring.
Much love,
Annie

Hey, thanks, Rick :) I had fun doing that yesterday. It was a day spent in pain AND it was a great day, too. Who says we have to stay whiny and miserable? Really, reading my blogger friend's post about Parkinson's really knocked some sense into me. We can listen to the ego or just move on...today as well. Many blessings on your day, Love, O

You're absolutely right, Kate. I read A New Earth and yes, I am learning to be with my pain-body. I feel much happier this way than whiny. This is a new thing, and I like it! Peace, love, joy, O

you are amazing, Olivia! thank you thank you for this wonderful videolog. I love it 0-- made a comment on your youtube and subscribed. I shall be reading. What a good lesson -- everything you said here about self pity, gratitude, perserverance, balance ... these are all issues I pay attention to in my own life. I too struggle with depression and it's good to see how you have been dealing with it in such a balanced, healthy way. Namaste :}
