How To Live II

"To know what you prefer instead of humbly saying 'Amen' to what the world tells that you ought to prefer, is to have kept your soul alive."---Robert Louis Stevenson

Happy Monday, Olivia! That's a gorgeous photo. I haven't seen any color like that outside for some time.

The same to you, Jane! You know, neither have I...this photo is from the summer, of some Chinese lanterns in our garden. The bright orange color cheered me up, along with the words, and so I put them together to spice up the day. Peace and love, O

I like this quote a lot, perhaps because I seem to have made it my life's goal, without intentionally deciding this at any point I can recall, to go my way even if it conflicts with the direction many seem to want me to go.

So, I freely admit to a bit of bias, but I love the idea that you are nuturing your soul when you simply are aware of your own desires even in the midst of the clamor all around you.

Mark sure does take gorgeous pictures, doesn't he, O?

Thanks for the birthday wishes at Small Reflections. This quote reminds me of what I've been working on at Sacred Ruminations. I love the bright orange color in the photo. That Love Hubby of yours takes gorgeous pictures!
Hugs and blessings,

Rick, Mark does indeed take marvelous pictures. When we go on vacation in a couple of weeks he will start up again with an underwater camera this time, so I expect more great pictures. He usually just takes pictures during vacations and then I save them for blogging. When we're not on vacation, he just works. This time I'm hoping he might continue, as the weather will start to get beautiful here next month. xxoo, O

Virginia, Sometimes it seems like we're all on the same journey, doesn't it? I think, because we are! I love seeing the parallels. He takes super pictures---I'm going to encourage him to do more in this area as he really enjoys it! xxoo, O

It took me a long time to learn this one. I don't know that I am very good at it still. But thanks for sharing it with us!
