Big positive steps for sure, but you seem to be truly ready for them now. It's always okay to ask for help when we need it, whatever the problem. Wishing you some happy and gentle healing times at the gym :)

Thank you, Patti, for your support. I need to remember that. I am not used to asking for help. And I appreciate the reminder to have GENTLE fun at the gym. Thank you very much, Love, O

olivia, when i was really struggling with my own disordered eating what helped me turn it around was admitting i needed help. i understand that embarrassed feeling, but i wish for you that you will see reaching out for help as a normal part of life (for everyone) and nothing to be ashamed of. i'm so happy that you have found some support for your journey!! sending loads of love and hugs your way. xox

Olivia, I'm a firm beleiver in the "whatever works" program. When you find something that works for you--and, in this case, it could well be the gym and the recovery program--then go for it, and to heck with any concern over what people may think!

From your description, it sounds perfect, given that you can use your own spiritual center from which you already draw a great deal of strength, your belief in Transformational Weight Loss, along with the recovery program and heading to the gym, to create the O System!

I'm rooting for you, my friend.

Thank you, Leah and Carmen, for your comments and even more tremendous support!

Rick...What a provocative comment. I have been struggling with something today and what you wrote clicked for me in an epiphanic (is this a word?) way. I will post about this today.

Thank you, my people,

Love,

O

Olivia, I agree that only you know what is right for you. I think it's really important to be willing to try things. Good for you for swallowing your pride and breaking through that stigma in your head about what is "beneath" you.

Eisenstein's theory is that if you continue to be totally present and experience the results of your choices, it won't take will power to make the healthy choices. Do you think he's wrong or do you think you haven't spent enough time reprogramming your system?

As for the gym, if you're like me, there will be days when you planned to go but you are dreading it and having trouble getting the will power to just go. When that happened to me, I found it really helpful to break it down into small steps. Just put on the gym clothes. Just drive over there. Just walk around a bit. Oh, well, I'm here, now I may as well ___. It usually worked.

You are very brave, Olivia. I am so proud of you for taking these two huge steps and giving yourself the GIFT of trying these things to see how they work for you.

Thank you, Kelly, for reframing my efforts as GIFTS---the trying of new things---instead of as failures or humiliations, which was how I tended to look at them. I also like your idea about taking small steps in the direction I want to go.

I totally agree with Eisenstein on everything, and had forgotten that he said that about willpower. This is key and I'm going to address it in a post that I'm going to start writing as soon as I finish writing this! Thank you, Kelly, as always,

Love,

O
