Encouragement for Creatives

This video was recommended by Kelly and is fantastic. It features Elizabeth Gilbert who wrote "Eat, Pray, Love" and is 20 minutes long, but soooo good, called "A Different Way To Think About Creative Genius". When you have the time and are interested in creativity, watch it, as it's sooo worth it!

Olivia,

I have seen this and it is very good. It does relate to what I said in my post. My info though came from "If you want to write" by Brenda Euland. Which is an excellent book. Elizabeth Gilbert says the same thing. Just show up and the inspiration will come.

Thanks, Kate. I'm glad you got a chance to see it. I have that book, just haven't read it yet, but it looks like I should! Yes, indeed...Blessings, O

Thanks for the link Olivia. I saw it somewhere else in blogland too. It's great thinking of creativity as teamwork with the higher power, which encourages us to just do it and see what happens. It kind of takes the pressure off too.

You're welcome, Patti. I guess I'm a little behind the times here :)

I like thinking of creativity in this way too. I think it's a reflection of reality!

xxoo,

I'm so glad, Claire. I love when people say things that we think but don't know how to put into words...Elizabeth Gilbert does this beautifully! Healing energies, O

The more I think about the point Gilbert makes in that talk, the more I apply it to other areas of life...like ALL of it. It's not on our shoulders to make it all work, to know exactly where we are supposed to go next, do next. Show up and get out of the way...in everything. It takes a lot of the pressure off to see life this way.

Kelly,

I love this: "Show up and get out of the way...in everything." Perfect.

I really like your profile picture as well. You may have had it for a long time, but it seems new to me. You look elegant and beautiful!

Love,

O
