Share the Joy Thursday: Walking Amongst the Birds with Rocks

Writing a post about joy first thing on a Thursday morning sets the intention for joy for the whole rest of the day. It is a beautiful spiritual practice, and I'm grateful to Kim and Meri for thinking of it.

This post is about a walk I took on Sunday at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. It brought me so much joy because I haven't been able to go there in many years; it was closed for a while and I had various leg and foot issues. I dearly love to walk, and in the continental United States, this is my very favorite place to walk. So I was thrilled to have the chance to go again. To make it even more special, I took some "Rock My World" rocks from Kim Mailhot, the Queen of Arts, a.k.a. "the Rock Fairy". I thought that this would allow me to leave a little bit of love behind. This brought me joy.

Here are some pictures of my walk at Nisqually:

In this one below, can you see the top of Mount Rainier poking up? It is so majestic, and you can only see it on a clear day.

Now, here below you can see the "Rock My World" rocks I left behind for people to find. If you look closely you may be able to read the affirming message left on each one:

In the picture below, can you find the "Rock My World" rock?

And as always, this Thursday I share the joy of:

Being alive still another day
Anticipating the day as being "good" :)
Being able to see
Feeling like we are all connected (because we are)
YOU

If you are reading this...today...I wish you JOY!

Hey you... what a beautiful place to walk and think and enjoy the display of nature. I love those little stones and what a great idea of leaving them for others to discover.

The wildlife refuge looks like a wonderful place to take a walk.

Nice messages on the rocks. I'm sure they will bring a smile to those who find them.

I accept your wishes of JOY! Thanks. :)

I love this idea -- leaving little surprises and affirmations to be found and treasured. And though I'm only about an hour's drive from the Nisqually basin, I've never walked there. What a good idea!

Cinner, I am indeed well. Thank you for your love and example.

Patti, yes, it is so beautiful, isn't it? Thank you for your support and the love and beauty you send my way.

EB, thank you too, my friend. It was so much fun to follow through on this. I always want to do it, and it seems I often "forget" and get into my head and close myself off. So I'm glad I did it.

Mary, thank you for accepting the JOY!

Meri, Nisqually is so great and they will work on it so that it goes all the way around. It used to be a great 4 mile flat hike. Right out IN nature. Now it will be even more so, because the accessible boardwalk will have nature under, over, and alongside it. There is an energy there that is very uplifting.

Thank you all for sharing the joy with me today, xoO

Olivia, what a beautiful way of sharing joy by giving the Fairy Rocks! If I had come across one, I would have taken it as a sign meant for me--lovely!
I love the wide, open spaces dotted with wildflowers in Wasington! You can just see forever there--and definitely to Mount Rainier!

This looks like a wonderful place to enjoy the healing beauty of nature! I've been wanting to create some of these rocks for ages and have decided to do some with my grandsons when I'm looking after them this summer. They love crafts and although the youngest wouldn't be able to write the words himself, he can tell me what he wants to say and I can print for him. Then we can go out and "hide" them on another day.

Thanks for reminding me of this Olivia!

Thank you all so much.

And a special shout-out celebration to Kate, the Queen of Creativity for finding her lost companion dog Flynn! He was lost and came home safe and sound!
