Share the Joy Thursday: If You Are Alive, You Have Joy To Share

Writing about joy first thing on a Thursday morning sets the intention for joy for the whole rest of the day. It is a beautiful spiritual practice, and I'm grateful to Kim and Meri for thinking of it.

What brings me JOY today? Sometimes it is small things, other times it is large things. Today it is very large things.

Wearing this pink wig with Kim Mailhot, the Queen of Arts and Patti Digh, in honor of Brandie Sellers, Patti Digh's friend who is living with cancer. It brings me joy that we can all support each other and touch each other's live. Brandie is brave and real and alive.

LoveHubbie surviving his latest "unplanned heart event", which was unstable angina and a heart catheterization. It was Cattiwampus Stressland here last week, culminating with what we thought was another heart attack** on Friday. He was in the hospital over the weekend and unbelievably back at work on Monday. I am grateful he is still alive and it brings me joy that he has another chance to live.

Being alive still another day
Anticipating the day as being "good" :)
Being able to see
Feeling like we are all connected (because we are)
YOU

If you are reading this...today...I wish you JOY!

**So it was technically not a heart attack because there was no TOTAL blockage, but the blood flow slowed down and was almost blocked--it felt and looked like a heart attack, which was why he had the surgical procedure.

What a scare! So happy your mate is up and functioning after that episode -- and sending love and healing to him and to Brandie, as well. (Yes, you're right. . .we do need to openly appreciate the men in our lives and the positive contributions of men's energies).

It WAS a scare, Meri. I have been discombobulated since then, dealing with lifestyle changes he's at last (I hope) wanting to make and stick with.

In the last year or so I've experienced a lot of healing in this area--being appreciative of men's energies--due to some therapy and also to a relationship I have with a good male friend. Anyway, so much of the time I know I DON'T appreciate who they are, what they do, and how they are in the world--I take it for granted. Your post reminded me how things have changed and how I want to treat them (men and boys).

Anyway, thank you again Meri, for this new focus and practice of Sharing the Joy Thursday. It re-centers my week towards the end when sometimes my "gratitude energy" fails :) xoO

My Reply: Thank you Patti, it was very frightening. It was good to talk with my daughter-in-law during the surgery and to have the support of my family friend who works for us as well as his colleague. That helped so much. Thanks, Patti, xoO

Pre-Blogger Outage Comment from Jane:

I have come to discover and count my blessings in the every day joys: the use of my legs and arms, my vision, my husband, my friends, my family. So much joy is around us if we only take the time to realize it!

My Reply:

Amen, Jane, I'm glad! And I agree. And again, it's good to see you here, xoO

I'm so glad that your hubbie is feeling so much better and that is amazing that he's already back at work. Those wake up calls put everything into perspective to help us remember that simply being here is a joy to celebrate!

Kelly, thanks, I hope he feels this way too. In some ways he is back to life's whirlwind lifestyle and not seeing the miracles of everyday life...but I gain strength from looking to him as a profound teacher for me. This has changed me. xoO

Olivia,

So sorry I missed seeing this. I am so behind I had over 400 blog posts to read so I was just g oint to mark all as read to get over the overload, I am glad I checked yours though. I am glad Lovehubbie is ok and am sending love and energy your way.

Much love to you both,

Kate

Thank you so much, Kate. It is for that very reason that I often don't and feel compelled to read through everything--I too like to encourage people, pray for them, and be up on their lives. It is a balancing act though to live your life and keep up on all of the blogs. It can make you feel like a hamster on a wheel. I am learning I think to balance everything out. Inevitably I will miss things, but that's the best I can often do.

Thank you for your support and love, Kate, xoO
