~Anne Lamott in "Bird by Bird"

Today, allow imperfectiON and see how freeing it is! Does it free you up...or not?

The beauty of you is in your eyes, your smile and your bright shiny heart ! Perfectly Imperfect, that's what you are !

What an awesome and beautiful photo of you! I celebrate my imperfection in my recent foodie video. Just allowing people to see me and hear me took a lot of courage and I celebrate it with you!

A photo taken at the salon is the ultimate of risk taking...I always feel stipped bare sitting there in the chair with wet hair, odd things sticking out from it and the "de riguer" black cape that somehow leaves us all looking somewhat formless and alien!

And yet...there YOU are looking all confident and happy and smiling! Oh you are so much braver than I dear Olivia!! It's a beautiful photo of a very big hearted and inspiring woman. If I was closer, I'd hug you, hair dye and all!

Sometimes my imperfections bother me. Sometimes I can embrace them.

Your gentle, kind eyes and sweet smile distract from what's going on with your hair in the photo anyway. I'll bet you looked gorgeous walking out of that salon!

Thank you so much, ladies! It's so much fun being imperfEct with you!

You know, I really did feel like I was risk-taking with that picture...the black cape and the dye and foil. I am loving this process of learning to be vulnerable in my impeRfection.

Thank you for all of the love you all share with me--I receive it! We are all getting freer, aren't we? Whoo hoo!

You look so beautiful & happy O!

Funnily enough, today I saw myself in a promotional video that was made for my shoe store a few weeks back. For the promo I had absolutely no preparation and was given an unflattering T-shirt to wear.

Doing the promo was so much fun, that I didn't really mind how it turned out and how I looked. We all laughed at ourselves instead! Happily imperfect!!

Thanks, Patti! Your video sounds so freeing! It's a great example of "happily imperfect". Isn't it wonderful not to be a slave to "looking good" every minute of every day? Some of us can't ever look good up to our own standards. Instead, why not look our best at the time and let our inner light shine? It sounds like this is what you did, Patti, and had fun in the process. Great story, xoO

Wonderful - Perfectionism is one of those traits that pop up and I have to address every so often.
