Sacred Life Sunday: Rain

Here is a simple little video of the rain the other night. Just so you know I haven't disappeared from video altogether :) It is just 31 seconds long.

It is also raining today, and it feels like a blessing...

I have heard that it rains quite often in your part of the country. Does it rain for a long time or it is more like just alot of quick rain showers and then the sun comes out again?
I do like rain more now than I used to when I was younger, but I still don't like it when it rains all day.
The one good thing about your weather is how lush your yard is!!

Beautiful!
It probably smells good too - that clean earthy smell that happens after a good rain...

Mary,

It does rain a lot. Sometimes quick rain showers with the sun out (I'm guessing about 25% of the time) but then just regular rain for the rest of the time with brief stoppages for overcast skies to prevail. It once rained without a break at all here for over 40 days.

In the summer it rarely rains, though. Say June- August. Sept-May it rains a whole lot, though. And some snow in Dec-Jan.

It is what makes everything lush.

I don't like the rain all day, either. I do love the overcast though!

Thanks for commenting, blessings and peace, O

Kristine,

It does smell wonderful. My friend came to the Pacific Northwest for a business trip and that's the first thing he noticed off the plane, was the smell of the air.

Here in the woods it is more intense because of all of the greenery. And we are somewhat near the water (within a few miles of the sound).

You would find much to photograph here :)

Thanks for commenting, Kristine.

Wishing you all good things this week, O

I loved seeing your place and hearing the rain. I love the sound of it. I even have an app for my ipod touch that is rain. I use it when I can't sleep.

I'm glad you love the rain too, Kate, My Queen. It is so omnipresent here that I don't need an app :) It is truly a wonderful sound! xoO
